Traffic-Calmed Environment Enhances Safety and Mobility
Traffic-calmed environments are becoming more common as communities look for opportunities to improve safety and mobility.
Building on those opportunities to improve safety and mobility in Noblesville is at the heart of the Embrace Downtown project. The design team and city leaders are analyzing concepts to create a traffic-calmed environment for the historic downtown square. There are multiple ways to create traffic-calmed environments including narrowing the roadway, adding decorative finishes, and increasing safety measures for pedestrians.
Next Steps
The preliminary Phase 1 design will be complete in summer 2025, and the final Phase 1A design will be complete in winter 2025. A public open house will be held in fall 2025, but a date has not been determined.
